Absolutely — here’s the English version, keeping the same personal, slightly cheeky, informal blog tone rather than making it sound like a translated press release.
Summer was loud and wild.
Summer is pretty much over. And so is the festival season. Looking back, I have to say it was a pretty damn good one.
A lot of great festivals, a lot of great gigs and, most importantly, a lot of great crowds. There were quite a few of those moments this summer where you look up from behind the decks and think: Okay. This is exactly why I do this. Thank you to everyone who danced, shouted, stayed until the end and generally made these gigs what they were.
And then there was, of course, the first edition of This is Technopunk.
The premiere was nothing short of fantastic. The idea behind the night was to create a space for all those sounds that don’t quite fit into my Indie Dance Night – a little more Techno, a little more Acid, a little more drive, but still with enough melody and groove to keep things moving.
For the closing, I took over myself under my Techno alias J3LLL. The plan was four hours.
It turned into almost five.
And even at 11am, the crowd still wasn’t really ready to go home. Which, to be honest, is a pretty good problem to have. Eventually we had to stop the music, but judging by the looks of things, another hour or two would have been perfectly fine with everyone.
So obviously, there has to be a round two.
This is Technopunk – Round 2
The next edition is coming up on October 17th.
This time, I’m joined by MARC.US (AMTL) from 2–4am and Glenn Louis (Submovers) from 4–7am. We start on Saturday morning at 2am and officially go until 11am.
Officially.
Let’s be realistic: after the first edition, I’m not making any promises that we’ll actually be done by then. Maybe 12. We’ll see.
I’ll be taking over the closing again as J3LLL. The idea is to make that final stretch of the night a bit more than just another DJ set – it’s where the signature sound of This is Technopunk really comes together. A proper closing statement, so to speak.
The Indie Dance Night continues, too.
And that already happens this weekend, September 4th.
Starting at 8pm, I’m very happy to welcome Phastenie for the opening. She’s a Munich newcomer with a great feel for the sound and will be taking care of the first part of the night from 8–10:30pm.
After that, I’ll take over until around 2am.
And yes, there are already more dates in the pipeline for the rest of the season. So the Indie Dance Night isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
And then there’s new music.
Something else I’ve been working on for quite a while is finally seeing the light of day.
Moonboots, Baby (2026 Indie Dance Edit) will be released on September 11th, 2026 as part of the brand-new Clair & Obscur compilation on French label Melopee Records.
What makes this one particularly interesting to me is that the story of this track actually goes all the way back to 2004.
Back then, I produced Moonboots, Baby under my former artist name Jay Button. The original version was heavily inspired by the classic German electronic sound – think Kraftwerk, Anthony Rother and that whole wonderfully machine-driven, melodic side of electronic music.
Twenty-two years later, the track gets a new life.
The 2026 Indie Dance Edit keeps some of that original DNA but brings it into a very different context. And there are already several remixes planned for the weeks following the release, taking Moonboots, Baby in a few rather different directions.
More on those soon.
So, summer may be coming to an end.
But things are definitely not slowing down.
Quite the opposite.
